Day 1
Elfie arrived from the North Pole for his annual stay in our home on December 1st. As always, he arrived with our advent calendar. No crazy antics for the first day, but the girls were happy to see him back in his regular spot. He blends in quite nicely, don't you think?
Day 2
On Elfie's second day in our home we caught him trying out another holiday: Halloween! Every year Elfie gets into the girls' Halloween candy, and it always seems to be Lola's pumpkin bucket that catches his eye. Lola was a little worried about Elfie coming back this year as she didn't want him eating her candy. Well, she was in luck. While Elfie did fill his belly with pilfered Halloween candy, it was Ava's bucket that he went through this year. Ava didn't seem to mind, and Lola was pretty ecstatic that he left her candy alone. Well, for now. I mean there are still a few more weeks of this sugar loving elf hanging out in our home! By the way, doesn't that Halloween candy bracelet make a perfect elf necklace? It's a perfect fit!
Day 3
On Day 3 Elfie was a little tricky to find at first, but after quite some time searching the girls spotted him hanging from the clothes line with the washing. I'm not sure how he got himself into such a predicament, but there were pegs everywhere! He didn't seem to mind hanging upside covered in pegs for a whole day as he kept on smiling!
Day 4
Elfie's fourth day in our home happened to be the same day as the annual Snow? In Berkeley? festival. Not sure if Elfie sneaked a peek at the activity in the advent calendar, but on our day of snow fun we found him making snow angels on the dining table. Or rather, mini marshmallow angels! I should point out that there were a lot more mini marshmallows around Elfie when we first spotted him, but by the time I took a photo someone had eaten quite a few of them! If I had to name names, I'd say it was Lola, but you never know; it may have been Elfie himself!
Day 5
On day 5 we found Elfie looking like he was posing for a Christmas card! Look at him perched up there on the vase with all that holly and pine needles. Such a poser! I don't think I'd find it very comfortable to sit on such spiky plants, but just like when he spent the day hanging upside down on the clothes line, his cheeky smile never faded.
Day 6
Day 6 found Elfie back to one of his favorite activities from last year. The girls woke to find Elfie playing Yoshi's Woolly World on the Wii U with none other than Yoshi himself. I wonder if they even know how to play the game. I mean, they don't seem to have gotten very far considering the game is still on the main menu screen! I guess it's tricky when you don't have thumbs. Or fingers.
Day 7
On day 7 Elfie made a friend. And when I say "made" I mean it. Well, maybe not made. More like he "stacked" a friend. Ha! He seems to have stolen the hat from Mathilde's Brio stacking clown, but the clown doesn't seem to mind. His smile is even bigger than Elfie's!
Stay tuned for more of Elfie Pokie Nokie's adventures next week!
