To celebrate I'm sharing a super simple, yet super scrumptious ice cream recipe that Ava made a while back. It only takes three ingredients and you don't even need an ice cream maker. It really doesn't get any easier!
Most of these photos Ava actually took herself with my camera set up on a tripod as she planned to make a video to share on her YouTube channel. She hasn't gotten around to making the video yet so I'm hijacking them for my blog for now. I'll make sure to share her video when she gets around to finishing it.
As I mentioned, this recipe if super simple and only needs three ingredients - which you may have in your kitchen right now. This recipe is for chocolate ice cream, but you could always switch out the chocolate for any other flavor you might like to add. I'm not normally a fan of chocolate ice cream, but this is so good. It's seriously one of the best chocolate ice creams I've ever eaten!
Ok, onto the recipe...
What you'll need:
2 cups thickened cream
1 14oz tin condensed milk
10oz chocolate chips
Start by combining the condensed milk and chocolate chips in a large microwave safe bowl.
Place in the microwave and heat on high for 30 seconds. Stir and then heat for another 30 seconds.
Stir the condensed milk and chocolate chips to combine until smooth.
Pour the thickened cream into a large bowl and whip until thick. You should be able to hold the bowl upside down without the cream falling out when done. You can test it by holding it over your head like Ava did if you like! She looks a little worried as she didn't trust me that it would work!
Slowly fold the chocolate mix into the whipped cream.
Pour into a freezer safe container and smooth with a spatula.
Place in the freezer for 4 hours or until frozen.
Now it's time to enjoy your ice cream!
Trust me, this will be the best chocolate ice cream ever! The satisfaction of knowing that you made it yourself and that it was so simple just adds to the goodness.
I'm looking forward to trying this simple recipe with other flavors and ingredients. Maybe vanilla, strawberry puree, caramel sauce, maple syrup, crushed Oreos, sprinkles... Or maybe just making it with the cream and condensed milk, because condensed milk is such a good flavor on its own!
Have you tried making ice cream at home before?
