Oh, the places you'll go!
There are so many fun places for Colorado families to go this holiday season, but of all the places you go make sure not to miss The Dr Seuss Experience!
The Dr Seuss Experience was a huge hit with Colorado families over Summer and I'm excited to share this it's back for the holidays. Between our Summer travels to Australia and Fiji, and the whole family coming down with the dreaded c virus, we missed out on visiting The Dr Seuss Experience during it's initial season here in Colorado. So when I learned that it was coming back for a limited holiday season I made sure to organize tickets right away.
We visited The Dr Seuss Experience a few weeks back and it was so much fun. If you're following along on Instagram you've likely already seen my post there (click here if you missed it) but I wanted to share all the fun here too.
Let's take a look...
Little Dr Seuss fans will get a kick out of visiting The Dr Seuss Experience. The entire exhibition is bright, colorful and full of all the whimsey you'd expect from a Dr Seuss book. While there's no age limit, I would definitely say that this one is best for younger kids. Lola (12) and Mathilde (8) had a lot of fun during our visit, but a few of the activities were a little young for them (eg the swing ride is very slow to accommodate young toddlers) and because there were lots of toddlers there they had to be extra careful when running through the balloon maze or through the truffala trees. A fun experience for the whole family no less.
The exhibition is divided into about 8 different areas, each with a themed display based on a different book or character. We started out visit playing the Grinch by catching (or stealing, if you're Grinchy) Christmas presents from under a tree with a hook. We then moved on to a room full of infinite Sneetches and the aforementioned swing ride which Sam I Am just happened to be riding at the same time.
We turned a corner and found ourselves in a large room filled with balloons. This is the maze that I mentioned earlier. It's a pretty easy maze with a wide path making accessible for kids of all ages and abilities. I even saw a few toddlers sneaking shortcuts by squeezing through between the balloons! Smaller rooms come off the larger space with the balloon maze, so we went through the maze many times after going in and out of different exhibits.
The first room off the maze area is dedicated to the Lorax. Mathilde escaped the clutches of The Once-ler and we made our way into a forest of truffula trees with swings. We spent a little while playing on the swings in here and then made our way to the next room dedicated to The Cat in the Hat. Here we made a mess with silk scarves that flew all over the place while the Cat in the Hat watched nearby as he balanced books and a cake.
The next two rooms were full of color and fun. One featured all sorts of crazy interactive machines including one that launched fluffy balls into the room after the kids placed them in a tube. This room was very popular, especially with the littlest visitors. The next room over featured zany characters from There's a Wocket in my Pocket. Mathilde read with the Bofa on the sofa, checked out the Nink in the sink, dined with the Zable on the table with a Ghair under her chair, and so much more. This room was full of little surprises everywhere we looked.
The Dr Seuss Experience is open daily through January 1st 2023 (closed Christmas Day) from 10am - 6:30pm Fridays through Sundays, and 11am - 4:30pm Mondays through Thursdays.

The Dr Seuss Experience is located right next door to IKEA at 9667 E County Line Road, Centennial.
