Spooky season may officially be over, but if you’re like me and love all things a little bizarre then you’re in luck as Spookadelia at Spectra Art Space is here to stay for at least the next few months!
If you’ve been here a while then you may remember our previous visits to the amazing immersive installations at Spectra Art Space. Over Summer we explored the nature based installation Nova Ita: Propagation and back in January we visited for the first time and experienced Spookadelia: Doubt’s Echo.
Just like these previous exhibitions, Spookadelia: The Fracture takes visitors on an adventure through a psychedelic world of wonder and magic with a spooky edge.
Let’s take a look…
Spookadelia is an immersive exhibition that features vibrant and whimsical installations created by a host of local Colorado based artists. The exhibition spans indoor and outdoor areas and is filled with rooms and tiny houses of more wonder than you could possibly imagine.
Light displays, music bowls, distorted mirrors, crocheted creatures, a magic canopy, miniature worlds, interactive screens, a bubble blowing bear, and so much more await visitors when they enter the space. You’ll find plenty of hands on interactive fun as well as tons of photo opportunities among the colorful installations.
Spookadelia’s resident characters Gilly, Doubt, Xeriterix and Shadow also make appearances and interact with visitors throughout the exhibit, adding to the wonder and delight.
As you can probably guess from the name, Spookadelia is full of spooky displays. You’ll find skeletons, ouija boards, crows, potions, spiders and more throughout the exhibition, but true to form they’re all a little whimsical rather than creepy.
Spookadelia: The Fracture is open from 11am - 10pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Sunday, and 11am - 11pm Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Closed Tuesdays.
Timed entry tickets are $20 for adults (11+) and $12 for children (10 and under). Priority tickets for any time on a chosen day are $32 for adults (11+) and $20 for children (10 and under)> Priority tickets also include Spookadelia swag.
