7 Must See Immersive Experiences in Denver

If you've been here a while, you'll know that immersive exhibits are one of my all time favorite things.

And, if you're new here, hi! I'm Sally, and I'm a little obsessed with immersive art!

Here in Denver we're really lucky to have quite a few world class immersive experiences to visit any time we like. From whimsical worlds, to mind blowing science, to fun photo opportunities, there's an immersive experience for everyone.

Today I'm sharing seven must see immersive experiences here in Denver.

Let's take a look...

Bubble Planet

An immersive experience dedicated to all things bubbly!

Bubble Planet is a great, hands on option for visitors of all ages, but kids will especially love it. You'll find an interactive room with an ocean-scape projected onto all surfaces, rooms filled with giant balloons, a massive ball pit that resembles a bathtub full of bubbles, giant inflatable bubble domes, optical illusions, lots of fun photo opportunities, and, of course, plenty of actual bubbles! For an additional fee, visitors ages 8 and up can participate in a VR experience which gives you the experience of feeling like you're floating through famous artworks in a giant bubble. It's definitely worth the extra cost.

You can see our visit to Bubble Planet here and here

Bubble Planet is located at Exhibition Hub Art Center Denver, 3900 Elati Street, Denver.

Denver Selfie Museum

I think the name of this one says it all! Denver Selfie Museum is home to many rooms filled with fun displays perfect for fun selfies - or pics of the kids, if you're like me! You'll find all sorts of displays from simple, yet creative, backdrops, rooms filled with mirrors and glowing orbs, a bathtub filled with bubbles (ball pit balls), plenty of props to use, and so much more.

You can see our visit to Denver Selfie Museum here. This post is from our visit to their original location in 2020. Some of the back drops/scenes have since changed, but the photos I've shared here are all from their current location.

Denver Selfie Museum is located at 1531 Stout Street, Denver.

Meow Wolf Convergence Station

Meow Wolf: Convergence Station is one of those places that really has to be seen to be believed. It's kind of hard to explain just what it is, but believe me when I say that it is incredible. When you visit Meow Wolf you truly do feel like you are transported to another world. Another dimension where nothing is quite as it seems. Over four floors you'll find four very different worlds, each amazing in their own way. You'll find a colorful ice castle, tunnels and doors that lead to rooms beyond imagination, a forest filled with creatures and plant life like nothing on earth, a marketplace filled with quirky shops and even quirkier vehicles, rooms filled with illuminations, music, sounds and experiences that I can't do justice with my words... Trust me, it's hard to explain but it's definitely an experience you'll remember for a long time.

You can see some of our visits to Meow Wolf: Convergence Station here and here.

Meow Wolf: Convergence Station is located at 1338 1st Street, Denver.

Monopoly Lifesized

Most immersive exhibitions fall into the art category, but this one falls into the board game category. The life sized board game category! Monopoly Lifesized is an interactive and super fun event that features a Lifesized Monopoly board that players make their way around. The properties on the board can be purchased after completing escape room style mini games such as giant puzzles, a laser maze, a money booth, a scavenger hunt, and so much more. Avoid being sent to jail!

You can see our visit to Monopoly Lifesized here.

Monopoly Lifesized is located at DCPA Off-Center at Broadway Park, 407 S Broadway, Denver.

Museum of Illusions

Want to hang upside down in an RTD train car or off the side of a two story building? Ok, those examples aren't so safe in real life, and I definitely don't recommend trying them, BUT they are super fun if they're an illusion! At Museum of Illusions visitors can find themselves creating all sort of strange illusions and images just like these examples. You'll find mirrored rooms that create endless images, optical illusions that will blow your mind, puzzles that will have your brain in a knot, and so much more.

You can see our visit to Museum of Illusions here and here.

Museum of Illusions is located at 951 16th Street Mall, Denver
